- Go camping in your backyard and listen to the sounds at night
- Go cloud spotting as a family. Look for cirrostratus, cumulonimbous or lenticularis clouds
- Invent a nature game during a hike. "How many critters can you spot?"
- Plant a garden. Let your student pick seeds for a vegetable or flower and watch the growing process unfold!
- Collect rocks and create stories of the rocks travels to where you discovered them
- Read under a tree
