Junior French

It is my belief that learning should be active and engaging for the students so I have chosen to incorporate the Accelerative Integrated Methodology (AIM) into my Core French Program.  The program, Histoires en Action, is a story-based program that uses gestures as a means to teach comprehension of the French language. The goal is to create a safe environment where students feel confident and successful speaking, reading and writing French. This approach allows students to experience the language kinesthetically, visually, physically, and auditorially, meeting the needs ot all language learners and their learning styles.

Grade 4 - We have been very busy rehearsing and creating props and costumes for our presentations of Les trois petits cochons!  It has been an exciting year and it is wonderful to see that students' hard work coming together so beautifully!

Grade 4/5 - As the school year comes to an end, students are finishing up the creation of their own "phrases bizarres". These sentences reflect students' understanding of the vocabulary and grammar structures we have learned throughout the year while also being a lot of fun! Ask you child(ren) to show you their final copies!
Grade 5/6 - The class has been working very hard on their final projects for our play, "Les trois petits cochons". Students were able to choose from seven different options to express their understanding. We are all very excited to share our projects with one another before the year comes to a close!

Over the summer all students are encouraged to continue visiting the sites below to review their French skills! Students are also encouraged to visit the public library where they can access French resources.

For extra practice students can visits these great sites to test their French Skills!

Please keep checking this website for updates regarding your child(ren)'s programming.  If ever you have any questions, please contact me at the school (745-1353) or via e-mail (janessa_pratt@kprdsb.ca)

Merci!   Mlle Pratt
